La suelta, is the hunt of birds raised in captivity. The same day of the hunt they are freed in a specific place so that the hunter can shoot from the stand.

El ojeo. Driven red-legged partridge hunt is a very old tradition in Spain that has been enjoyed over the centuries by kings and well-known hunting families. It is by far the most challenging winged quarry to be found in Europe, famous for its incredible speed, agility and variety in flight. Beaters will comb the surrounding fields with dogs to send the birds into flight over the blinds by the hundreds. Quick reflexes are needed as small and large coveys of birds come in at high speeds at every conceivable angle.

La caza a mano. Hunting in hand with a single dog is the most practiced modality. The hunter is led by his well-trained dog who follows the trace of the bird. The dog and a good physical condition are a must both to find the prey and to shoot it.
